William L. “Dago” Davidson

William L. “Dago” Davidson, 72, of 10 Factory St., Friendship, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at his home. Born, September 20, 1949 in Friendship, he was the son of Victor J. and Barbara A. Chisolm Davidson. On July 9, 2011, in Friendship, he married the former Barbara J. Miles, who survives.

Bill attended Friendship Central School, graduating in 1967 and then served with the Army in the Vietnam war era. Returning to civilian life he began college in Alfred College graduating with a degree in drafting. First, he was employed as a draftsman engineer at Acme Electric in Cuba, Mite E Lite Co. in Wellsville and SKF Co. in Hornell. His next job was a process engineer at Corning Glass, retiring in 2011.

He loved sports of all kinds. He loved watching the Buffalo Bills and the Yankees. Also attended St. Bonaventure games in Allegany. He attended every one of his Grandkids sporting events that he could. His greatest love was spending time with his family, as well as playing cards with them.

Bill was a member of the Friendship First United Methodist Church, former member of the Almond Lions Club, member of the P.U.S.H. of Wellsville Club.

In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by 3 sons, Shane W. “Bessie” Davidson of Almond, Chad H. “Sarah” Davidson of Cleveland, OH and Scott L. “Meagan Emerson” Davidson; 2 step sons, David E. Cummins of Wellsville and Matthew A. “Jean” Cummins of Friendship; 17 grandchildren and a great grand daughter; a brother, Robert “Alice” Davidson of Oneonta, NY; and a sister, Penny L. “Carl” Baxter of Friendship.

Bill was predeceased by a step son, Jason L. Cummins.

Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 10 am to 12 noon, at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Robert Schooley of Rushford will officiate and burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship. Memorials may be made at a memorial of the donor’s choice.
