Victor C. “Vic” Howell

Victor C. "Vic" Howell, 86, of 41 Penna. Ave, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 at Cuba Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Born March 6, 1929 in Belfast, he was the son of Charles and Cloe Campbell Howell. On October 8, 1966 in Genesee, PA, he married the former Vivian E. Cummins Baxter.

Vic had grown up in Belfast and attended Belfast Central School. He served with the Army in Germany, and upon his return home, he moved to Rochester, where he was a machinist at the General Motors Plant there. Retiring in 1987, he and his wife made their home in Friendship.

Vic enjoyed fishing and hunting. His true love was his family and spending time with them, especially with his two special Great Grandchildren.

He was a 34 member of the Friendship American Legion Post # 1168.

Surviving in addition to his wife Vivian are a son, Todd (Mary) Baxter of Spencerport; two daughters, Amy J. Bennett of Friendship and Cheri R. Wagner of Friendship; six grandchildren, Justin Baxter, Brittney Blondale, Jonathan Pasquale, Summer Bennett, Kevin Baxter and Zachary Baxter and great grandchildren including special great grandchildren, Noah Patton and Victor Baxter; a sister, Mildred Granger of Saluda, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

Vic was predeceased by his parents and step father, Carl Raymond; a son, Charles V. Howell, four brothers, Dick Howell, Hubert Howell, Gordon Howell and Burton Howell; and a sister Wilma Hopkins.

Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home 2-4 pm on Thursday, November 12, 2015 where memorial funeral services will follow at 4 pm. The Rev. Glen Layfield Pastor of the Scio Church of God will officiate and burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship. Memorials may be made to the Friendship American Legion, Post # 1168.
