Trenwith H. "Tren" Young

Trenwith H. "Tren" Young, 86 of 7196 Co. Rd. 26, Belfast, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at Olean General Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Born November 27, 1934 at the family home in Black Creek, NY, he was the son of Donald D. and Roberta Wixson Young. On August 21, 1970 in Niagara Falls, NY, he married the former Dawn A. Zeigler, who survives.

Tren had attended the Cuba Central School, where he graduated, class of 1955. After his schooling, he was employed at Acme Electric Corp. as a draftsman for the next 35 years. He then was employed as a draftsman at Morrison-Knudsen in Hornell, NY for the next several years.

Her enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, fishing at Black Lake and traveling. Most of all he loved his family especially his Grandchildren and spending time with them.

He was a member of the Belfast Fire Dept. where he was Past Chief and President. Also he was Deputy coordinator, fire investigator and NYS fire instructor. Member and past President of the Belfast Lions Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife Dawn are two sons, Donald L. Young of North Myrtle Beach and Douglas L. (Tina) Young of Belfast; a daughter, Donna L. (William) Nichols of Belfast; five grandchildren, Christina Vivas, Sandy Aroyes, Donald Young, Brandon Young and Ashley Nichols, and five great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorthea Peet of GA and Delma Wolcott of Pike; and several nieces and nephews.

Tren was predeceased by a daughter Deborah Hardman and her infant son David Jr.; three sisters, Erma Jane Wolcott, Lynetta Kyser and Marilee Wolcott; and a great granddaughter, Cadence Young.

Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast 2-5 pm on Friday March 5, 2021 at which time (5pm) funeral services will be held. The Rev. Robert Mackmer, Belfast, will officiate.
