Sandra R. “Sandie” Ellison

Sandra R. "Sandie" Ellison, 72, of 112 West Main St, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the Hart Comfort House of Allegany Co. Wellsville, NY, following a brief illness. Born April 15, 1944 in Wellsville NY, she was the daughter of Raymond and Virginia Appleby Stimson. On February 24, 1968, in Kingsburg, NJ, she married Thomas J. Ellison Sr., who survives.

Sandie had grown up in Bolivar and had graduated from Bolivar Central School, class of 1962. For several years she was an assembler at Acme Electric Corp in Cuba, later she was a medical records clerk at Jones Memorial Hospital. In 2005 she became a medical records clerk at Cuba Hospital retiring in 2008.

Sandie enjoyed watching her husband play the drums, knitting, crocheting, quilting, watching politics and old movies on TV. Most of all she loved her family especially her Grandchildren and spending time with them.

Sandie had received 2 Associate degrees at S.U.N.Y. Alfred in Medical Laboratory Technology and Science Laboratory Technology and earned a Certified Coding Assistant certification.

Surviving besides her husband, Thomas are a son, Thomas J. (Cheri) Ellison of Rochester; three daughters, Tracy R. (Jeff) Marks of Friendship, Jennifer A. (Erik) Gehen of West Seneca, and April E. (Jonathan) Hall of Rochester; eleven grandchildren and a great grandchild (on the way); three sisters, Linda (Guy) Gilliland, Debra (Bernie) Adams, and Patricia (Jonathan) Schmitt all of Bolivar; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Friendship, on Tuesday September 27, 2016 from 2-4 pm at which time funeral and committal services will be held in the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Schooley, of Rushford will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Friendship. Memorials may be made to the Comfort House of Allegany Co. 141 East State St. Wellsville, NY 14895.
