Sally L. Cotton, 76, of Box 53, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, after a brief illness. Born April 8, 1944 in Johnsonburg, PA, she was the daughter of Jerome “Chick" and Virginia “Ginny” Gier Stauffer.
She had been employed most of her career as an insurance specialist at Elk Co. General Hospital, Helpmates, and as office manager for Dr. J.L. Hackett Jr., MD. in Ridgway, PA.
Sally enjoyed life. Sally and Gary were a loving couple who truly enjoyed their time together and their many travels. She loved her son and his family as well as her new children and her Grandchildren were a source of pure joy to her. She loved all of her family and many friends whom she spent countless hours conversing with. She loved to read and her knitting skills were fantastic. She loved family gatherings where she was sure to get laughs with her silliness. Sally will be surely missed.
Surviving are her husband of six years, Gary L. Cotton, whom she married on 9-27-14 in Belfast, NY. A son Dennis (Stacy) Renaud of Owasso, OK, a step son, David (Rochelle) Cotton of Fortson, GA, a step-daughter, Tammy Cotton and her partner Don Sendlak of Rensselaer Falls, NY.
Also surviving are a sister, Mary Jane Johnson of Fairfax, VA, brothers, Thomas (Nancy)
Stauffer of Tulsa, OK, Timothy (Dollie) Stauffer of Johnsonburg , PA, sister in law Patty Oliver of Belfast, NY , granddaughter Alexis (Brandon) Jackson of Owasso, OK, great grandchildren, Caden and Kinnley. She also had many nieces and nephews that she was very fond of.
She was preceded in death by her parents her first husband, Dennis “Red" Renaud, brother, David Stauffer, brother in law, Ronald Johnson.
Funeral Services for Sally will be held privately at Thompson Funeral Home, Ridgeway, PA. A memorial service will be held at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Leo Magnus Church in Ridgeway, PA or St. |Patrick Royal Catholic Church in Belfast, NY.
