Ruby Mae Straight Reisman, 95 formerly of East Main St. Friendship, died at Cuba Skilled Nursing Facility, where she had been a resident since 2010 following a brief illness. Born May 31, 1919 in Friendship, she was the daughter of Charles and Ruth Swarthout Skinner. On December 26, 1937 in Friendship, she married Morris Straight who died May 13, 1964 and on February 6, 1976 in Friendship, she married Harry Reisman, who died in 1980.
Ruby had resided most of her life in Friendship and had been a graduate of Friendship Central School, class of 1937.
She enjoyed quilt making.
She was a member of the United Church of Friendship and was Sunday School Superintendent for many years. She also taught Sunday school for many years.
Surviving are two sons, Phillip M. (Barbara) Straight of Sebring, Fla, and Stanley E. (Sherry) Straight of Darlington, PA;
Three daughters, Shirley M. Straight of Jamestown, Nancy L. Moulton of Virginia Beach, VA, and Patricia C. (Michael) Quigley of Allegany;
12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Skinner of Friendship; and several nieces and nephews.
Ruby was predeceased by a grandson, Brian Douglas Straight; three brothers, Leo Skinner, Lawrence Skinner and Gerald Skinner; and two sisters, Leona Swartz and Doris Dunbar.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Treusdell Funeral Home, Friendship. There will be no visitations. Memorial services will be held on May 16, 2015 at 1:00 pm. The Rev. Kirk Kirch, pastor of the United Church of Friendship will officiate and burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship.
