Roger V. Middaugh, 79 of 4105 Irons Rd. passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at Olean General Hospital, following a brief illness. Born August 11, 1939 in Belmont, he was the son of William V. and Ruby E. Sortore Middaugh Sr.
Roger had grown up in Belmont and had graduated from Belmont Central School class of 1957. After his graduation, Roger became an employee at the NY State Dept. of Transportation out of Friendship, where he worked for many years retiring in 2004.
He enjoyed horse pulling and cutting wood, but mostly loved spending time with his family.
He was a social member of the Wellsville VFW.
Surviving are a grand son and a grand daughter; two brothers, Douglas (Carol) Middaugh of Scio and Donny (Norma) Middaugh of Friendship; three sisters, Oneley and Darrel Scharf of Angelica, Marilyn Miller of Wellsville and Joyce Clark of Angelica;
sisters in law, Ruth Middaugh of Scio, Connie Middaugh of Scio, Ellen Middaugh of Belmont, Helen Middaugh of Friendship and Beverly Middaugh of Belmont; and several nieces and nephews.
Roger was predeceased by, two sons, Roger Middaugh Jr. and Jason Middaugh; two daughters, Dawn Doherty and Verna Middaugh; five brothers, William Vincent Middaugh Jr., Richard Middaugh, Ralph Middaugh, Maurice Middaugh and Fred Middaugh;
and a great granddaughter, Anna Ellen Marie Doherty.
There will be no visitations. A family memorial service will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Treusdell Funeral Home, Friendship.
