Mrs. Preston was born on December 2, 1927 in Portageville to Howard and Ellen (Peckham) Bisnett. In 1944 she was married to LeClair A Preston in Hume, NY. After raising most of her family, Myrtle became an LPN and worked at Cuba Memorial Hospital and Houghton Nursing Home. She later worked as an assessor for the Town of Belfast and was a Town Board Member for several years.

She is survived by one brother, Howard (Alson) Bisnett, eight sons, Russell and Leslie of Caneadea, Norman of Wellsville, Richard of Rochester, Ronald of Belmont, Wayne, Ray, Lowell “Bo” ( Janelle) Preston of Belfast, and three daughters Linda (Steve) Whalen of Arlington Heights, IL, Janice (Jerry) Horton of Vandling, Pa, Barbara (Sam) Antonio of Clarence, NY and 25 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Doris, Laurel and Lois, her husband LeClair, two sons, Douglas and Leonard, and her granddaughter, Carrie.

She enjoyed playing cards, quilting, taking care of her yard, and collecting antiques. She loved her politics, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home from 4-8pm Saturday, March 12th 2016.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Caneadea Cemetery.
