Mary N. Harrington Jelleson, 86, of 22 south St. passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 following a short illness. Born September 12, 1936 in Belfast, NY, she was the daughter of Robert and Winfred Harrington. On September 8, 1956 at St. Patrick’s Church in Belfast, she married James A. Jelleson who predeceased her on April 6, 2022.

Mary had resided most of her life in Belfast. She attended the Belfast Central school, graduating with the class of 1954. Later she attended the Doyle Beauty School graduating in 1955 as a hair dresser. She started working doing hair in Wellsville. In 1957 she opened up her own business from her home in Belfast where she worked from 1957 to her retirement in 2022. Mary and James ran a Western Store on Main St. in Belfast and Olean for many years.

Mary was very active in St. Patrick's Church on church council for over 40 years. Also she was President in the Crafty Bells Group in Belfast for many years.

Mary enjoyed horses, Buffalo Bills and the Yankees. She enjoyed watching her children show horses and watching them play sports at school.

Surviving are a son, Terry (Jodi) Jelleson, of Medina, Ohio; 2 daughters, Joan M. (Donald) Cobb, of Belfast and Glenda (Cyrus) Katrak of Concord, CA; several nieces and nephews; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, James A. Jelleson; a daughter, Janet Jelleson Kuhn; a sister Jane Harrington; and a brother, Robert "Bobby" Harrington.
