Marie M. Willard, 85, of Crawford Creek Rd., Caneadea, died Thursday, December 31, 2020 at home, following a brief illness. Born December 21, 1935 in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of Albert and Maria Boldt Wolff. On November 17, 1955, in Orchard Park, NY, she married George F. Willard who predeceased her on January 27, 2012.
Marie was a history teacher at West Seneca East Senior High School for 20 years, retiring in 2002. She and her husband ran Willard’s Country Place Campground following her retirement.
She enjoyed watching the birds, sewing, cooking, gardening, traveling in the US and Europe. Most of all she loved her friends and family and spending time with them.
She was a member of the Belfast Red Hats organization, a lifetime member of the NRA Association and the Allegany County Tourism Association.
Surviving are two sons, Robert P. (Diane) Willard of Wellsville, NY and John F. (Jessica Strauss) of Rushford, NY; three grandchildren, Jessica (William) Torrey, Joshua (Jonquil) Willard and Kaylea Willard; two great grandchildren, Jerilyn and Sienna; and many nieces and nephews.
Marie was predeceased by her daughter in law, Kelly Willard and her sister, Wanda Bachert.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a time and date to be announced. Memorials may be made to the Oramel Fire Department. Arrangements are under the direction of the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast.
