Lenore G. Dress, 73, of 10 Hillside Dr., Wayland passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Rochester General Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Born November 12, 1940 in Pondeque, NY, she was the daughter of Elwin J. and Hanna Rebecca Hutchins Butler. On November 17, 1967 in Webster, she married Veryle A. Dress, who predeceased her on July 24, 1993.
Lenore had grown up in Centerville and was a graduate of Fillmore Central School, class of 1958. For a short period of time she was employed at Fisher Price in Buffalo. While bowling in Rochester, met her husband to be. For a several years was employed at Kodak in Rochester until 1967.
Lenore enjoyed gardening, bowling, baking and camping. She was a caring person and had taken care of many of her friends when they needed her. Most of all she loved her family and being with them.
Surviving are a son, Eric Alan Dress of Honeoye; a daughter, Pam (Forrest Sr.) Smith of Rochester; two grandsons; and a special friend, John Ahearn of Wayland.
Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast 7-9 pm Tuesday. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 3, 2014 at 3:00 pm. The Rev. Robert J. Mackmer, pastor of the Belfast Free Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in White Cemetery, Rushford.
