Jean M. Baham, 69, of 8853 Lower St., passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at her home, following a brief illness. Born June 16, 1950 in Cuba, she was the daughter of John C. and Genevieve Prentice Wells. In Belfast on August 9, 1975 she married Alfred A. Baham Jr who predeceased her on February 26, 2007.
Jean grew up in Belfast and attended and graduated from Belfast Central School, class of 1968. For several years she was a self -employed cleaner for the Houghton Post Office. Later she was a clerk at the Houghton Mini Mart for many years. She was employed at the Houghton Nursing Home as a laundry room attendant. Lastly she was a greeter at the Springville Walmart.
She enjoyed knitting and word search games. Most of all she loved her family and friends and spending time with them. Also her dogs and cat were part of her family named Axel ,Sassy and the cat Jerry Lee.
Jean had been a member of the Belfast 1st Baptist Church and at this time was a member of the Angelica 1st Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Alfred A. Baham lll and Jeremy V. Baham both of Rushford; a sister, Brenda Gowdy of North Collins; two sisters in law, Virginia Baham and Patricia Baham both of Angelica;
and several nieces and nephews.
Jean was predeceased by a daughter Phoebe Baham; and two sisters, Linda Baham and Judy James.
Private visitations and funeral services will take place for the family at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast. The Rev. David Ford, Pastor of the Angelica 1st Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Belmont. Memorials contributions may be made to the Angelica 1st Baptist Church.
