Florence B. Eck

Florence B. Eck, 97, 4 Chestnut St, passed away at her home, December 22, 2015, following a lengthy illness. Born December 28, 1918 in the Town of Alden, she was the daughter of William and Julia Billiar Eck.

Florence had resided most of her life in the Lancaster, Friendship and Scio areas and had attended the Lancaster Rural School District School system.

She was employed at the Symington-Gould Co. in Depew for several years as an assembler and later for Curtis Aircraft in Cheektowaga during ww 2. In 1948 she became a restaurant proprietor at 77 Seneca St, in Buffalo and in 1951 became head waitress for Louis Lunch Restaurants both in Lancaster and Buffalo. Later she moved to Friendship and in 1972 moved to Scio.

She enjoyed doll collections, doing crafts of all kinds and jewelery making.

She was a member of the Scio United Methodist Church and the Scio Sunshine Club and had been their cheer person.

There are no known survivors, with the exception of a special friend who passed away, George Killian.

Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, 65 Main St. Belfast from noon to 2:00 pm on Saturday December 26, 2015 at which time funeral and committal services will be held. The Rev. Robert Mackmer, pastor of the Belfast Free Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery Scio. Memorials may be made to the Office of the Aging, Belmont, NY 14813.
