Daniel Vincent “Danny” McCumiskey

Daniel Vincent "Danny" McCumiskey, 68, of 8139 Bennett Hill Rd., Caneadea, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at his home following a lengthy illness. Born January 22, 1947 in Cuba, he was he son of William J. and Jessie M. Day McCumiskey.

Danny had grown up in Town of Belfast, then Varysburg, NY for a period of 10 years. He returned to live in Belfast for several years. Later Danny moved to Wellsville and after that he went to Rochester for twenty years. In Rochester he was employed at ARC as an assembler for many years. He returned to Caneadea a short time ago.

Danny was a fan of Elvis Presley, and Gene Autry, watching their movies, watching Gun smoke on TV and doing puzzle books. He loved children and animals, traveling, but most of all loved his family and spending time with them.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Belfast and the People and Places organization in Rochester.

Surviving are two brothers, James F. (Marion) McCumiskey of Belfast, and Dennis M. (Marlene) McCumiskey of Leroy; a sister, Mary E. McCumiskey of Belfast; and several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Kathleen (Hank) Malota of Caneadea.

Danny was predeceased by brothers, William J. McCumiskey, Patrick J. McCumiskey and Robert E. McCumiskey; and a sister, Margaret A. McCumiskey.

Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast from 4-8 pm Friday July 24, 2015. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015 beginning with prayers at the funeral home at 10:30 am, followed by a mass of Christian burial at St. Patrick's Church in Belfast at 11:00 am. The Msgr Vincent Becker of Varysburg, will be celebrant and burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Belfast.
