I am blessed to have grown up in the hood with this legendary, inspirational man.  Our E. Hughes Street family (of the day) was second to none.  I greatly admire, respect and appreciate Shorty for his business acumen, his politics, the sales skills he taught me and his kind heart.  He gave me my first job and I will always remember our time together at River Valley and at the Buffalo Clinton Street/Bailey Ave.market on Saturdays and for the many summertime root beer floats he and Delores treated me to at The Wheel Inn.  My sincere condolences and love to Delores, Jerry and Sheree and the entire family.  RIP Shorty!  Tim Hayes
