Charlotte B. McCollister, 85, of 8829 Rt. 19, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Jones Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born April 29, 1928 in Caneadea, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Bessie Hillman Prevorce. On June 30, 1951 in Rushford, she married Donald J. McCollister who predeceased her September 18, 2001.
Charlotte had resided most of her life in Wellsville, Arcade and Caneadea areas and was a graduate of Belfast Central School class of 1946.. For a period of 10 years she was employed at Acme Electric Corp. in Cuba and later The Big N. Dept. store in Wellsville and then Ames Dept. Store in Yorkshire, NY, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of St. Marks Church in Rushford and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
Surviving are three sons, Brian L. McCollister of Caneadea, Sean P. (Pattye) McCollister of Garland, Texas, and Timothy J. (Debra) McCollister of Chesapeake, VA;
six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitations. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church in Belfast on December 21, 2013 at 11:00am. The Rev. Dennis Mancuso, Pastor will be celebrant and burial will be in Caneadea Cemetery, Town of Caneadea.
