Brian Dean Cole

Brian Dean Cole, 66, of 47 Pleasant St.,Wellsville, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Wellsville Manor Care Center, following a lengthy illness. Born July 28, 1954 in Cuba, NY, he was the son of Ernest R. and Helen Mowers Cole. On October 13, 1989, in Rushford, he married the former Tamara Jo Cockle, who survives.

Brian had resided most of his life in Belfast, attended the Belfast Central School and graduated from there, class of 1972. After that he enlisted in the Air Force and served with the 380 CES Squadron, which was a Strategic Air Command based in Plattsburg, NY.

Following his military, he was employed at the Accord Corporation, formerly Housing Action Corporation in Belmont., for many years. He was Deputy Director of Housing Services and was a member of the NYS weatherization Directors Association.

Later he was a rural mail carrier for the US Postal Service in the Caneadea area for many years. He also was employed at several Home Depot Stores in the area. During this time he was school bus driver of the Genesee Valley Central School in Belmont, NY for several years. Later he was Tour Coach driver, for Covered Wagon Tours pf Hornell, NY and tractor-trailer driver for US Express of Chattanooga, TN.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Shawna (Darin) Hodgkins of Bolivar; a son, Corey (Pam) Cockle of Angelica; brothers, Larry Cole of Buffalo, Leroy (Rose) Cole of Belmont, Terry Cole of Batavia, Roger Cole of Erie, PA, Barry (Mary Lou) Cole of Georgia and Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Cole of Belfast; sisters, Bonnie (Charlie) Vince of Freedom, NY, Susan (Scott) Thompson of Avon, NY, Linda (Don) Hennard of Belfast and Laura (Denis) Davis of Birdsall, NY; and 2 grandsons: Conner and Carson; and several nieces and nephews and cousins. He loved and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Brian was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Larry, Kenneth and Michael and sisters, Brenda Cassidy and Kathy Cole.

There will be no visitations or funeral. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
